Tucked away from the main streets five minutes walk from the Olympian City mall, Kurokidou sure is a rare find. The wait staff was curteous, but not overly friendly (which was great btw), and we got right down to the business of ordering. We ordered the don sets. For the additional $12 in upgrading to a set dinner, the salmon miso soup and the seaweed salad were great. The soup was flavourful, and not the usual watery run down kind you'd get in an upgraded set.
Our don bowls arrived in a timely manner and although done ever so subtly, the wait staff made sure our bowls were presented to us at the "right" orientation the chef intended it to.
The bowl was nicely plated and it's top with some really fresh and sweet sashimi. The rice was amazingly seasoned as well. I know this is a somewhat minor detail, but I love the shape of the soy sauce dish. It's shape made it perfect for pouring soy sauce onto the rice, making it my kind of sashimi don place.
