CIAK still remains a corner for solid, casual Italian on workday evenings in the Landmark area, but is losing somewhat of its edge as a place for special occasion dining where one might be more likely to go for bigger plates. A spontaneous meal at CIAK with anything off its charcoal grill selection for one or small bites from its eclectic list of appetizers would leave one feeling (very) happy with both the standard of food and the service. Although I'm not a fan of pasta in general, I must admit that pasta here is pretty memorable.
On the other hand, be warned that a meal with black truffle pizza and a 1.2kg rack of prime bone-in rib eye might fall slightly below expectation. On this particular evening, our rib-eye was somewhat of a disappointment (not our first time ordering). While we requested medium rare, the prime rib was more 45-50% doneness in some places and 80% in others (which to some extent is understandable, but the range was really too big!). The prime rib tasted good, but it didn't really match the price tag. Perhaps florentine would have been a more flavorful way to enjoy the rib-eye (yet to try). I would give this a B-.
