The mango and tofu (flower) was amazing. The mango and mango ice was cold and sweet, perfect for a summer evening, and the tofu flower was smooth and creamy. I loved it.
The black sesame rice balls were standard, just sweet enough in the ginger soup.
The green (mung) bean soup was also good, the right consistency and the right amount of sweetness.
The purple taro and yam ice cream with mochi and black glutinous rice was really, really good. The ice cream was yummy and the rice had the right amount of stickiness.
The walnut soup was creamy and quite good. We got the grainy version, will extra walnut pieces inside. At first I thought I really liked the grainy version in my mouth, it was a new sensation. After a few bites, I decided that actually I liked it better without all of the walnut pieces. I guess I'm old school.
Overall Hoi Kee was a great place for dessert, and I will gladly return again the next time I'm in Hong Kong.
