Great café restaurant at a very convenient location – it’s definitely a hard-to-miss one on the busy Leighton Road. Great café restaurant at a very convenient location – it’s definitely a hard-to-miss one on the busy Leighton Road. It sits within the Fiat car showroom, with a modern, clean and bright interior décor.
When I sat down, I was introduced a few of their signature dishes; however, as I have allergies to black pepper, the waiter has immediately consulted the kitchen and changed their recommendations promptly.The first dish I had was the parma ham with fig and cheese. I was not a fan of fig to begin with – but the fresh combination of the three was very well matched.
The next appetizer was the tomato with cheese in olive oil. Tomatoes and cheese was fresh – but there was no surprise to this dish.
Next came the Carbonara. I must say I have a very high standards for pastas and this one did not let me down. The spaghetti was al dente, and the consistency of the sauce was perfect but it was not overly heavy.
While I was still savouring the pasta, next came the steak. We ordered medium rare and it was grilled exactly the way we wanted it. The meat was juicy and tender in a pink color when sliced open. As it was seasoned very lightly, you can add additional salt and pepper to how your taste buds would like it exactly. As for me, I liked it the way it was served.
Last came the dessert – as I was very full from the 2 mains – we could only order 1 to share. We ordered the peaches in whipped vanilla cream and almonds. All the ingredients were fresh, but the combination gave me no surprise.Overall, it is a good café restaurant – great location and service with good food. Although it’s a bit on the pricey side, the portion and quality of food justifies for it.
