Looking for a casual dining spot in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui that serves up authentic Italian food for an affordable price? Then Da Filippo is the perfect place! 🇮🇹 Pic 1️⃣: Flatbread Focaccia Pizza (Mozzarella, Rocket Salad, Parma Ham, Fresh Cherry Tomatoes) - $178 hkd 🍕 — A pretty good pizza! This was baked to perfection as the pizza base was crispy on the outside yet soft and chewy on the outside. There was a generous amount of toppings on this which were all fresh and tasty. — A pretty good pizza! This was baked to perfection as the pizza base was crispy on the outside yet soft and chewy on the outside. There was a generous amount of toppings on this which were all fresh and tasty. I would say that the parma ham was overly salty and quite dry but fortunately the tomato sauce and cheese was able to help with that.
Pic 2️⃣: Wild Mushroom Risotto - $168 hkd 🍄
— The risotto was quite flavourful and had a rich mushroom taste to it but the rice was slightly undercooked. Loved the combination of different mushrooms which added great texture to the dish and extra aroma. Also a good portion size for the price.
Pic 3️⃣: Caesar Salad - $128 hkd 🥗
— A very good way to start the meal! Vegetables were fresh and crisp, and I absolutely loved the dressing in this. The dressing had the perfect amount of acidity from the lemon juice and savouriness from the anchovies. The salad isn’t over dressed and covered in cheese which I enjoyed and made it even more appetising.
Pic 4️⃣: Spaghetti alle Vongole - $198 hkd 🍝
— Thought the presentation of this was slightly odd 😅 whilst the taste was just alright. There was an overload of parsley in this which masked all the other flavours in the pasta dish which was slightly disappointing. The sauce had a very thick and slightly gooey consistency which is not what you would expect for a spaghetti alle vongole. Apart from that though, the pasta was cooked to a nice al dente texture and the clams were tasty and flavourful.
