Great interior...soso food

King Ludwig Beerhall seems like a really fun place to dine in...great interior reminiscent of old school beer halls in Germany, with monster sized beer glasses for the drinking. Beer on tap was the first thing I ordered, crisp and fresh and cold, with great taste, everything you want in a beer. However, the food was very dissappointing, especially for the price paid. Beer on tap was the first thing I ordered, crisp and fresh and cold, with great taste, everything you want in a beer. However, the food was very dissappointing, especially for the price paid. The all too famous pork knuckle, was a far cry from those I remembered eating in Europe. Meat was tough and the skin was more hard than crunchy as it took a bit of force to bite through that shell. Pork knuckle was not seasoned well as it was relatively bland, and we were not offered any condiments (ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, tabasco) after telling the water the meat had no taste. We also ordered the famous pretzel, which was large in size and decent tasting but could've been better if it was a bit crunchier. Furthermore, it was served lukewarm which is dissppointing considering you could get the same thing at any other bread shop at one quarter of the price. Lastly, we ordered a bunch of sausages which were the redeeming part of the meal as it was piping hot and seasoned perfectly with a bit of a kick to it. Staff were pretty friendly although forgetful sometimes as we had to ask them 4 times to fill our water. Will probably not come back again.
