It has been quite a long time since i had food from cafe de coral! I am too lazy to go outside for lunch today (esp in the rainy season in HK) i decided to grab a rice box from Cafe de coral. The line up at the cashier is very long and it's always packed with people during the peak hours! I am actually quite impressed by the service people at Cafe de coral (no matter from the cleaning ladies, cashier or the chefs at the counter) they always greet you with smiles! It's quite rare to find service
I ordered the BBQ rice box to go - HKD35 per box of course i wont expect too much! However, the chef at the BBQ station was so friendly and he asked me if i want more sauce or less sauce on the rice box
The BBQ pork is okay except it's a little bit dried on the surface - The BBQ sauage is a bit better than what i expected as it's still warm and crisy! The soy sauce chicken taste a little bit too salty and i had to remove the skin (normally i wont remove the skin when i am having chicken wings) The salted egg again is quite salty (well i understand that it's a salted egg but the taste of the saltiness is very appealing when it's mixed together with the soy sauce in the rice. Normally i love to eat 姜葱 but i had to give up because the rice box combination is a bit too much!
Overall i dont think the rice box is bad (except for the saltiness) - For a rice box priced at HKD35 with vegetable, bbq pork sausage, chicken and etc...plus the excellent and very welcoming service! I think it's worth it especially i dont need to walk under the rain
