A while ago, I discovered a sweet cupcake place called The Cakery in Pacific Place. Serving cupcakes that are gluten free, low sugar, low calorie. Recently, they opened a new shop in Causeway Bay's Lee Garden. Where 2/3 Dolci once stood, is The Cakery. As I always have a cake break after work, I came here this time.
They do offer take away, but if you want to sit down, they will charge 10% service charge. What they offer is their healthy cupcakes. But as they now offer seating, they also have healthy, gluten free sandwiches and cafe type food. I may try it next time for I was only here for a cupcake!
Menu is in English only. They also offer chia seed puddings.
I ordered a latte ($34). It was listed as organic. It was ok. Fairly smooth but not too strong. The cupcake I finally decided on was this: strawberry wild ($36). A strawberry cupcake with strawberry buttercream frosting. It was not gluten free but it was reduced fat and low sugar. It taste delicious. The frosting was smooth and creamy. It had a strong strawberry taste. The cupcake was moist with bits of strawberry found throughout.
A wonderful sweet break that didn't make one feel guilty for eating something unhealthy because it was a fairly healthy, wasn't it? Will return in the future to have lunch and wonder what they serve?
