had new yr\'s eve dinner at this restaurant tonite. did not have much expectation originally as my husband wasnt really good at picking dining places, but turn out it was great!when i enter, i like the decor immediately - a bit dimly lit, with music (Italian opera 2nite), the seating space is kinda packed, but acceptable. or maybe the customers are all well-behaved so i can at least hear the music.we choose to sit outdoor originally but its just too cold, and there a show out there going on sing

when i enter, i like the decor immediately - a bit dimly lit, with music (Italian opera 2nite), the seating space is kinda packed, but acceptable. or maybe the customers are all well-behaved so i can at least hear the music.

we choose to sit outdoor originally but its just too cold, and there a show out there going on singing cantonese pop songs which doesnt match the atomosphere at all, so we move indoor.

we had a 5-course dinner, very full and the quality is good, indeed, i mean VERY GOOD, when loking at the price. The foie gra was well cooked, the lamb I ordered is over-cooked a bit, but my husband\'s ribs tastes great. Dessert is simply great - a petite 3 pieces of cakes.

Well, what I like is their details :
(1) Service is SIMPLY GREAT - u know these days even when u enter a high-class restaurant, it doesnt guarantee good service. There are more than enough waitor/waitresses and each of them are very nice, esp a young guy. very attentive and nice. Its not uncommon to have 1 good waitor in a restaurant, but having most of them being so nice is a rare case.

(2) I saw the boss walking around, talking to customers and asking for opinion. This is also what I like - that shows u care. La Parole has been opened for a few yrs (last time i was in their next door restaurant Cest Bon and its already a couple of yrs ago) and there s really no need to ask for opinion like a newly opened restaurant.

(3) I saw their waitor having these walkie-talkie. So when u finsih a course, they ll alert the kitchen to serve the next one. Honestly it wasnt like a big restaurant. Their willing to invest in such equipments shows they do care the need to serve courses in the right time.

(4) The boss, yes again, its about the boss ( a woman) she was collecting customers plates and drinks when other waitors are busy. Thats what a good boss should be like - treat you as equals as your subordinates. Share the workload.

Apart from the good food, what impresses me most is their service. What makes a good restaurant - service + food quality + environment, missing any would be a minus.
