叁拾壹堂高烤吐司 (English name: Sanshiyi Toast & Breakfast) is a place that has peaked my interest lately. Reading about it in a magazine, they place served Taiwanese style breakfast sandwiches. There you will find this super small shop. There are seats but just not a lot. It's mostly geared for take away. And they do take a long time to make your sandwich. There was only one person in front of us and it took them 20 minutes per order.
Menu is in Chinese only. There is no 10% service charge. But what they serve is various types of toasted sandwiches. You can upgrade to a set that includes fries and a drink.
We ordered the pork chop and egg sandwich ($28). They sliced in half and wrapped each side into a piece paper for easier eating. And it was definitely worth the find. The bread was toasted nicely. The pork chop was juicy and seasoned well. The egg was fluffy and soft. Everything was nicely buttered as well.
The sandwich three slices of bread. On one section we discovered it was filled with Japanese style potato salad! Glorious! Everything worked together in one small package. A great sandwich!
Definitely will be back if in the area.
