Checked out Niu Ba Taiwanese, a newly renovated Taiwanese bar & restaurant that is located between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. — Really enjoyed this flavoured beer! Just look at how cute this bottle design is 🥺 The beer has a strong mango taste and is quite sweet, making it very easy to drink. This was so refreshing and perfect to have alongside fried and spicy food. It also had a good level of acidity that helped cut through the greasiness coming from the fried food. Really recommend trying this out!

— This set is so worth it and guaranteed to fill you up! The tomato soup was rich and not overly sweet. The noodles soaked up all the flavours from the soup nicely, though they were slightly overcooked and soft. The bonito flakes crusted tofu was really interesting, as the bonito flakes gave it an intense flavour after being fried. This was topped off with a sweet and sour sauce that made it super appetising.

— A good variety of snacks in this platter. My favourites were the taiwanese sausage and fried chicken. These were so flavourful and really well executed. The fried chicken had a good amount of batter, whilst the chicken remained juicy and tender. The fried cuttlefish balls were slightly oily and firm for my preference but tasted quite nice.

— Another very worthy meal set! The mixed noodles were so tasty! They weren’t overly spicy and had the perfect amount of sauce and seasoning that coated each noodle nicely. Love that the set comes with a portion of vegetables to balance out the meal. Though I would say that there’s a bit too much sesame dressing on this which was quite overpowering.

📍Ambiance: This place got progressively louder as the night went on as there was a large group throwing a hotpot party in the centre of the restaurant (which seemed like friends of the owners). I had trouble hearing my friend because they were so loud. That aside, staff are very friendly. Think this place has a lot of potential as the food is quite good, but ambiance needs to be improved.
