Alvy’s has been one of my favourite pizza places, and on my second visit to the restaurant, I’ve got more than I expected. We ordered a beer and the buffalo wings as usual, but this time we went brave and ordered the spicy Sichuan pizza, I also couldn't resist the temptation of their sweetbread, and ordered as appetiser.To my surprise, they’ve changed their recipe of their sweetbread, it used to be a sweet and sour pork version off sweetbread but they’ve changed it to Typhoon Shelter version now

Alvy’s has been one of my favourite pizza places, and on my second visit to the restaurant, I’ve got more than I expected. We ordered a beer and the buffalo wings as usual, but this time we went brave and ordered the spicy Sichuan pizza, I also couldn't resist the temptation of their sweetbread, and ordered as appetiser.

To my surprise, they’ve changed their recipe of their sweetbread, it used to be a sweet and sour pork version off sweetbread but they’ve changed it to Typhoon Shelter version now. I loved this modification as I felt the sweet and sour sauce has overpowered the taste of sweetbread. But this time, the irresistible typhoon shelter seasoning matched the sweetbread perfectly, I could taste the best of two worlds.  

As for the spicy pizza, we were shocked by the amount of chillies piled on top of the pizza, it’s almost like the 水煮鱼 we have at Sichuan restaurants. The spiciness was just right, and it’s very fragrant. This has once again proven Alvy’s has done a great job with fusion food. It’s hard to strike the balance with fusion food as you should keep the best of both cuisines and not create a  strange combination just so you can make it fusion. So again, wonderful satisfying experience at Alvy’s !
