Boyfriend and I were in the area ready for art weekend but wanted to start off with lunch first. It seems we always go to the same cha chan teng nearby but this time we decided something different. It's a very small restaurant so it is a bit cramped. Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. However, they do have a daily series of special dishes that are in Chinese only. What they served was various rice and pasta dishes. Or Hong Kong style Western food. All sets come with a drink.
Whenever I'm at a place that serves Hong Kong style Western food, I know I cannot go wrong with spaghetti bolognese. And that is what I had. Bolognese and Cheese Spaghetti ($56). It was baked. I didn't expect that but it was a nice touch. There wasn't a lot of cheese but the bolognese sauce was excellent. Lots and meaty goodness with a rich tomato sauce. The pasta was not overcooked as well. Portion was quite large.
Boyfriend ordered something off the daily specials. This is black pepper chicken steak spaghetti ($58). I thought it wasn't as good as mine. Portions was large as well but there clearly wasn't enough sauce for the pasta. The sauce had a strong black pepper taste. The chicken meat was moist and tender as well. But I liked mine more.
Food comes out fast and it was pretty good. Portions are generous. No wonder it's always so busy. Would be back.
