兴发熟食 is a place boyfriend wanted to find because he read about it on the Siu Mai social media page saying this was one of the best siu mai in the area. Curious he went to find it. He got himself a cup of siu mai ($10) and small portion of beef tripe ($14). But the portion was a lot! There was at least 10 pieces of siu mai and a lot of beef tripe. The siu mai was ok. Nothing really special about it. The beef tripe was actually quite good. Very soft and full of flavour. But the thing was the spicy chilli sauce they added. And they gave a generous amount, too. It was not just spicy but it was fragrant. The heat also lingers so it stays with you for a long long time.
Generous portions. The siu mai was ok but the portions were generous. Probably why it was recommended because you get a lot for what you pay for. Good value.
