Located in Wanchai in the very hip Ship Street area, it was busy on a Saturday night. With a huge pizza oven and an open kitchen of staff tossing away pizza dough, the place looked promising.
Menu is English only. It's simple, with a number of pizza choices but not that many with meat on it to please boyfriend. They also didn't have the usual American style choices but it was more Italian where it's more treated as a flatbread.
They also gave us a specials menu but boyfriend was equally not impressed.
We chose a cremini mushroom pizza. This included various mushrooms, fior de latte cheese and percorino cheese, olive, garlic and Italian sausage. The staff warned us there would be no tomato sauce and if we wanted to add that. We opted to stick to the traditional Italian way and said no. I thought it was fine though boyfriend felt it really needed tomato sauce. He just wanted something familiarly American. The staff gave him some chili oil which he drizzled on. But he said he felt it was spicier than expected and he only added a few drops. The only thing I faulted was the crust. It had a slight burnt taste so it made it bitter.
The staff was friendly. Constantly refilling your water glasses. The pizza was ok. I expected better. Also, for a pizza place, I agree with boyfriend. I expected more variety of pizza choices.
