Decided to check out Knutsford Terrace for dinner after work on a weekday evening, and went to Munch following a friend’s recommendation.The décor of the place was nice and modern, and the staff were very welcoming upon arrival.My friend recommended their signature starter, the Lump Crab Cake served with a Roasted Red Pepper and Garlic Remoulade. Have to say this was the best dish of the whole meal! I loooove garlic and roasted red pepper, which complemented the delicious, flakey crab meat – and the portion was huge!
After practically licking the plate clean, next was the main course:
Australia Lamb Rack with Porcini Mushroom & Potato Gratin. The portion was MASSIVE again, and the lamb (my favourite meat) was nicely flavoured, cooked to order [medium] and tender. The Gratin was pretty good too, but could have done with a few more mushrooms.I barely had room for dessert after all that food, but I powered through to tackle a Strawberry Napoleon!
Layers of pastry, butter cream made a very rich end to the meal, while the strawberries and blueberries helped to punctuate the crunchy custardy goodness with little pops of fruity flavour. The chocolate ice cream that accompanied the dessert was a bit unnecessary – it was already sweet enough – although it tasted good!Also had a glass of New Zealand Pinot Noir to accompany the meal, and that went down very nicely!
Service was good throughout and it was an enjoyable meal, at a reasonable price. Recommended.
