It must have been a while since I last visited MK (Mong Kok). Went there because my friend made a booking in advance to try this "all you can eat" Japanese BBQ restaurant since we are both meat lovers. For those who are new to this concept basically you can order as much food as you want within 120 minutes but keep in mind you have to cook the food yourself with the bbq stove at your table. The food would be delivered to your table but other items such as soft drinks and ice-cream are self-serve
We were 10 minutes early and had to wait until our booking time of 8:30pm to get our seats. Got called on time and asked to walk down the basement. Surprisingly the place is full of people on a rainy weeknight. As expected at a BBQ place you can really smell the atmosphere from everyone being a chef. So luckily I wore clothes that could be washed easily afterwards.
As we sat down the friendly staff explained to us how things work in this place. My friend moved on to fill in the forms to order food while I headed for the fridge for some cold drinks. To start off with we had sashimi platter for entree, served beautifully on ice in a bowl.
The food we ordered quickly arrived and our table ran out of space in no time. We had various flavours of chicken wings, vegetables (corn, mushroom, pineapple), seafood (prawn, scallop) and tonnes of red meat in all shapes and sizes (can't remember which is which). Some of the meat were served on a timber stand with dry ice below to create a very cool effect.
Overall my favourites were the fresh prawns, sweet pineapple, honey chicken wings and the thin beef slices. We almost ordered too much food and had to rush the cooking in the end to avoid wasting precious food. Time was up, paid the bill and left with a filled belly.
Until next time.....
