I booked a table on Saturday for Sunday night dinner at 6:30, but it turned out not to be busy at all. I ordered the regular slab of baby back ribs with the house sauce, and I added a bowl of the loaded baked potato soup, which has become a favourite of mine. My friend ordered mozzarella sticks. which came with a light coating of seasoning and a marinara sauce -- quite good -- and a shaved steak sandwich. The soup came with their Italian bread baguette, presliced about three-fourths of the way through, and their delicious garlic butter, which was spreadable from the start. The potato soup was as expected. The ribs were outstanding. This is an American chain, and when you dare to promote yourself as "a place for ribs," they'd better be good. They were! You have a choice of four sauces, but I stayed with the house sauce the first time, although the hot and spicy would appeal to me, as so would their Carolina honey barbecue sauce. I'll do those in the future.
My friend was not as impressed with the sandwich. He avoided the bread altogether and stuck with the meat, which he thought was OK. We opted not to eat dessert.
The servers were efficient and friendly without hovering. They kept my drink filled with a smile. My friend was happy with his beer.
Big thumbs up for Tony Roma's. I will definitely return.
