This is one of my favourite shops in sai yung pun. Local, easy, causal but indeed good food, good atmosphere. If u always fancy the local japs food stall (居酒屋，深夜食堂), why not look for something really belongs to HK? Here we can order big mug of beer, a number of BBQ skews even seafoood and foie gras, then enjoy your night with your true friends -- forget about the manners just talk and laugh loud. First we sat down with beers, then ordered sirloin, ox tongue and foie gras. The sirloin and ox tongue was just so-so, its still juicy but not tasting very strong. Maybe its not fresh enough for the night? Foie gras was good, fatty and creamy , it could be even better to be a little thicker so to give a richer stuff in mouth.
Second round we ordered seafood. Abalone, great! The texture is right means they control the time well, flip it over the abalone was cleaned thorougly too and it did give credit! ; Scallops, big and thick, rich in flavour, to cook with a little onion making the whole thing and the juice so nice. The last one was oysters, overcooked.
The last thing we had was lamb. We ordered to make medium rare and it came as it should be -- another credit!
Actually we had some more of the balls but they weren't much special. Anyway. Overall the meal was very satisfactory, and as i've mentioned above, the atmosphere is very informal and casual that would allow you to forget about (any)things and just relax + enjoy!
