Came here for a break from the Songkran festivities from the local Thai community after being suckered in by the photo of a dessert that looked like a bowl of ramen. So, boyfriend and I decided to give it a try.Located in Kowloon City, is a dessert shop that also serves all day breakfasts and various snacks. Decor was spacious with a cafe like feel. Located in Kowloon City, is a dessert shop that also serves all day breakfasts and various snacks. Decor was spacious with a cafe like feel. The place also seemed to sell bottles of wine. Ramen Cake Set ($88). The restaurant claimed to have a limited amount but they had this available when we ordered it. The "ramen" is actually a chocolate cake with chestnut cream on top and vanilla panna cotta. The "char siu" is a butter cookie. The "fish cake" was white chocolate. It came with "soup" which is lemon tea jelly and "takoyaki" which were cream puffs drizzled with condensed milk and chocolate.
It sure looked cool.
But it tasted horrible. The chestnut paste was bland. The chocolate cake was dry and lacked chocolate flavor. The vanilla panna cotta was just watery. The worst was the cookie char siu. I nearly choked from how dry it was. The lemon tea jelly was ok and did taste like a box of Vita Lemon tea. The takoyaki cream puffs were even worse. First, they were just puffs and they obviously didn't make it themselves as they tasted like the puffs you get from a bag at your favorite candy/snack shop.
