Scouring OpenRice for new places to try has been a recent favorite pastime, and this shop has been at my top of the list to try. As we were having dinner at Yardbird, I decided to stop by afterwards for dessert since it was nearby. The colorful storefront was definitely easy to find at night. It was very cartoonish-like which was intriguing to say the least. We checked out the menu out in front of the shop and were immediately attracted by the Black & White, so that's what we tried tonight! The in
The colorful storefront was definitely easy to find at night. It was very cartoonish-like which was intriguing to say the least. We checked out the menu out in front of the shop and were immediately attracted by the Black & White, so that's what we tried tonight! The interior was even more comic-like and there were several high chairs available for indoor dining at the bar tables. Our waffle arrived fairly quickly in a paper container with the words "love me, love me not?" Having read so many good reviews, my expectations were very very high. I've also had very good belgian waffles in New York so I was waiting for this to blow me away...except it didn't. The Black & White was the basic waffle with ice cream and black and white chocolate bits. The ice cream was extremely hard and we almost smushed the waffle trying to pry some away. The waffle itself was not crispy enough on the outside to my liking and worst yet, the inside was doughy to the point where it seemed undercooked?!? It was sticking to my teeth like no other. At $37, this wasn't impressive nor the best waffle yet.
