I have always wanted to try Mijas at Stanley. In fact, I was about to celebrate my birthday here but had to cancel our booking just a day before because I had to work OT on a Saturday! Anyway, I finally got to try this restaurant last Saturday. We booked ours at 1pm and took No. 6 bus to get off at Stanley Plaza.We thought we were having a la carte but upon seeing that the Weekend Buffet cost less than most main courses at $298, we had lunch buffet! The lunch buffet starts from 11:30 am to 3 pm
We thought we were having a la carte but upon seeing that the Weekend Buffet cost less than most main courses at $298, we had lunch buffet! The lunch buffet starts from 11:30 am to 3 pm and the 2-hour afternoon buffet that starts at 3 pm cost a hundred dollar less. We chose balcony seat to feel the May breeze and sunlight and true to its Spanish tradition, there's live band. So we have music and natural sounds as backdrop; the ambience is just right.
It's actually semi-buffet as there are six dishes made to order. We can also choose oysters, goose liver, or lobster tail for the complimentary appetizer.
In the middle table inside the restaurant, there are salad, Spanish ham, cold cuts, and some fruits and jelly cups. At one corner, there are paella, bread, soup, potato wedges, and roasted beef; a few hot dishes like lasagna, deep-fried shrimp ball, green curry chicken, rice, and some sweets like cupcakes. And there are a few more varieties of cakes and pie near the bar table. The selection is pretty good for a restaurant.
In general, we enjoyed our Weekend Buffet here. The salad is fresh, roast beef okay good, and desserts decent. I find their curry pineapple a pleasant surprise too.
