Let’s just skip the intro and get straight into the point of this food review, the tapas here were surprisingly better than expected. Every one of the dishes they serve were freshly made and waiting time was reasonable, service was nice and the atmosphere within the restaurant was cozy and it felt like every one of the customers there were really friendly and fun.Vine-ripened tomatoes, butter lettuce, red onions & white wine vinegar $86- Very fresh and crisp ingredients, sharp flavors and nice s
Vine-ripened tomatoes, butter lettuce, red onions & white wine vinegar $86- Very fresh and crisp ingredients, sharp flavors and nice salad dressing, not overpowering the freshness of the vegetables.
Crispy deep fried pigs’ ear with spicy caper mayonnaise $51- Crispy batter, soft and chewy on the inside, flavorful and meaty dish with a good combination of the mayonnaise. A really nice dish for snacking, highly recommended dish~ Mushrooms sautéed with cherry tomatoes & Jerez sherry vinegar $89- This dish smelt so good the moment it was served on our table, the aroma of the mushrooms was brought out by the vinegar during the cooking process, and it also gave the dish a lot flavors. The cherry tomatoes were extra juicy and sweet; I loved this dish so much I can still remember how it tasted like right now. Tartar of salmon, traditional garnishes, smoked paprika & quail egg $95- A surprisingly fun and tasty plate of raw salmon, mixed with quail egg, and eight other herbs and ingredients. The entire dish was so complex but flavorful, the egg yolk gave the dish its creaminess and the tartar was gooey in texture. A very original dish they have here. Seared scallops and caviar, grilled asparagus- The scallops were freshly chosen, seared until the top and sides were charred but the center was still soft and it did not require much chewing. The caviar gave the scallops more saltiness to it, which made the dish even more like a seafood dish. The asparagus had the char grilled flavor, the vegetable itself was crispy and easy to chew. Seared goose liver with fig & ruby port chutney $149- The foie gras was seared just right, the outsides were crisp; the center was still smooth and gooey. The sauce was delicate. Iberico & Co. Paella, Spicy Chorizo and Seafood $338- The paella was a bit disappointing though, the rice was soggy maybe because there was too much sauce, and the spicy chorizo made the whole dish quite spicy (I’m not a spicy eater) therefore I wasn’t able to really taste the seafood. 5J Jamones Iberico dumplings with pea & thyme broth $95-Nicepork filling, heard that the Iberico pork is quite rare and is not served everywhere. The broth was rich but light. Sad thing was, when this dish arrived I was already 80% full therefore I did not have the chance to really savor it. The consequence of ordering too much in the first place! Desserts~
Churros with chocolate dipping sauce $70- Warm and crispy churros, though I would like it to be a bit more chewy on the center and not crunchy all the way. Baileys serradura with popcorn & peanut brittle $70- Even though I’m not a fan of Baileys but I liked this dessert a lot, the jar of serradura tasted somewhat like cream pudding with digestive biscuit crumbs in between layers. The peanut brittle popcorn tasted sweet and crunchy, which gave the serradura the exact texture it lacked. Nice pairing. I’d give this tapas restaurant a 4.5/5, the foods were amazing, and the service was great~ totally worth the money for such presentation and taste.
