I have always wanted to try this place, but it always slips my mind when it comes down to deciding what to eat. Not this time! I have to admit that I'm not a vegetarian, but I do enjoy eating like a vegetarian most of the time.I ordered 2 appetisers and one main dish.First was the cold smoked vegetarian goose which was just carrots and black fungus wrapped in a beancurd layer. It had an incredible smokey aroma, which was pleasant for the first few pieces, but afterwards it became overwhemlingly

I ordered 2 appetisers and one main dish.

First was the cold smoked vegetarian goose which was just carrots and black fungus wrapped in a beancurd layer. It had an incredible smokey aroma, which was pleasant for the first few pieces, but afterwards it became overwhemlingly strong. The carrots and fungus still had a slight crunchy bite to it, which some people may prefer, but personally I prefer the texture to be softer.

Second was the braised gluten. I really love this type of dish and order it at most places when I see it on the menu. To be honest I've had better, This version was just too oily for me and some of the pieces of gluten were too hard and chewy. The black fungus here was good though, cooked till it was soft and slippery.

The main I ordered was the claypot tofu with vegetarian chicken pieces. The tofu was quite good, very slippery and soft in texture, but I wasn't expecting the vegetarian chicken to look like white bits of nothing with not much taste or texture on its own. Once again I found the dish overly oily.
