As a ritual to celebrate each other’s birthday, we would pick a different place for weekend brunch for celebrations each year. This year we decided to try out MEATS which is one of the restaurant under Pirata Group. The restaurant is tucked in the heart of Soho. The restaurant is tucked in the heart of Soho. The weekend brunch menu is set at a price of HKD298 + 10% including a welcome dish, your choice of one each to pick out from the Starters, Mains, Sides, and Desserts selection. For those of you who loves a drink or two, there’s also a 2 hours free flow package for the price of $198 + 10%, including house wines, Prosecco, rose, and beer.
Welcome dish: the fish taco was served hot and crispy and it’s super fresh, good choice to open up that appetite
Starters: the duck salad served with watermelon was quite refreshing and the sweet flavour of the watermelon balances out perfectly with the duck that are slightly marinated. The chicken liver pate was also smooth and silky.
Mains:
1/2 Rotisserie Chicken: the portion is surprisingly big and for my taste, the meat is slightly over done
The Works: smoked pork belly, sausages and fried cake. Best combo for breakfast/brunch. The smoked pork belly was tender and the Smokey flavour makes it so much more flavourable.
Sides: fries and Truffle Mac n Cheese, can’t get any better with Mac n cheese served with truffle 😋
Desserts: coconut lime pie and chocolate brownies, good combination of choices to balance each other out and wraps up the meal
Overall, for the quality and portions of food served, this brunch menu is definitely a good pick.
