This place is one of my favourite Japanese restaurant.
I love their half-grilled sushi!
Must try sushi are:
Half-grilled Salmon
Half-grilled Hamachi
Half-grilled Chu-Toro
One of the reason why i like their sushi, is because the sushi rice is absolutely delectable. They use enough vinegar in the rice and they are never over-sticky.
Other fave of mine are :
Tempura prawn Sushi roll
Deep-fried Softshell Crab Hand roll
For sashimi, you need to sit at the sushi counter, and ask Chef Sam to decide for you.
He will decide what's the freshest fish that just got shipped over from Japan, and he will choose the most succulent cut for you.
The place may look very old-fashioned and you may think they only serve authentic Japanese food, but they can sometimes churn out pretty fusion food! The other day, i tried a lettuce wrapped hand roll. Inside is Toro + freshly mashed Avacado + Sea Urchin.
Sounds weird, but it tastes quite yummy, like a guacamole uni fish salad. haha!
Some of my other must-have dishes:
Egg + Pork Cutlet Rice
Freshly blended Japanese tomato juice
Tea-pot Soup
Plum Tea broth Rice
Spinach + Cheese Beef Roll
Deep-Fried Sea Eel bone
Grilled Kinki Fish
Cold chewy Udon
Wash all this food down with ice-cold Sake in their special Sake dripper.
Fun when drinking with a big group of friends!
But the only drawback....... price!
