Being of Greek-Cypriot extraction, I am hard to please when it comes to kebabs. I was practically raised on them in the summer months and it has made me notoriously picky. Enter Bismillah (a.k.a. - BKH). Enter Bismillah (a.k.a. - BKH). This unpretentious little joint on the first floor (2nd for Americans) of Chungking Mansions has a menu that reads like a manual, but if you go with either the lamb or chicken kebab roll, you will not be disappointed. We weren't.
We ordered one lamb and one chicken kebab roll and a couple of salt lassis. The salt lassis were fine - not special, but served their purpose. The kebabs were excellent. The bread was a Turkish/Lebanese style flat bread and was well made. The meat (in both cases) was perfectly seasoned and beautifully cooked. It was caramelized in the way that authentic doner (giros) should be. Note - this is actual pieces of meat on the doner spit, not the reformed stuff you get in the UK. This is authentic. The flavour was excellent and the succulence of the meat was a joy to behold. Basically it was the grilled meat of your dreams.
The meat was well balanced with salad and, accompanied with sauces, made for a moist and wholly satisfying wrap. Basically, it was great in every way that a decent kebab should be.
