Ok, I understand that Genki Sushi is like the Mcdonalds of sushi...something you can get fast and relatively cheap, at least compared to proper japanese restaurants in Hong Kong. However, this lunch visit on a typical Saturday prompted me to write this review about this branch in particular. I ordered quite a few items including fried shrimp heads (which was pretty good although the batter was a bit thick), salmon sashimi, salmon roe sushi, miso soup, tamago, raw shrimp sushi and some other items. My first complaint is the salmon roe (ikura) sushi in which the salmon roe was all compressed together (see picture). Furthermore, the salmon roe looked cloudy as if the ingredient was way past expiration. However, my biggest complaint was when the server gave me the wrong piece of sushi. I ordered salmon sushi but they gave me octopus which I am allergic to. I actually picked at the sushi with my chopsticks in front of the waiter and after I informed him that they gave me the wrong sushi, they placed it on a small plate, plopped a cover on it, and put it on the conveyor belt sushi. I told the waiter that I touched it but he ignored me and walked away. After seeing this, although I rarely do it in the past, I will never eat the sushi sitting on the conveyor belt again.
