Heard about this shop's New Opening and came to check it out for a quick lunch 1st, but it wasn't the best start to the meal. So anyway that aside, here's Purely Food review!
The Lunch Menu is quite Hongkong-nised but the Night Menu seems more interesting. At night time, they have a few more Kyushu style Signature Dishes or freshly flown-in Fishes, also 备长炭 Kushiyaki grilled skewers! Note that their Hakata-style Intestines Hotpot (もつ锅) use Beef Organs & Intestines rather than Pork ones. When I ate this dish in Hakata or Kyushu, for some reason I always 'ate' the Pork version but upon research now, apparently its usually more Beef based though Pork version is also available. Seriously.... very surprising news to me, as I thought its always pork-based but seems like I was wrong to take it for granted! But Inaniwa Udon shop in Elements also uses Beef Based!
The so-called Horse Sashimi on the signage however isn't available at this stage.

GRILLED PORK WITH ONION RICE - 烧猪肉饭:
Remembering the good porks I had in Kyushu or the Pork Rice I ate when Japan's Yoshinoya wasn't selling beef for a few years, I ordered this! This was surprisingly pretty good, way better than I expected. Sauce was slightly sweetened but coated the pretty strong tasting pork, which were also tender but not artificially so. Onions soaked up the juices. Slightly localised in taste but quite close enough to authentic, one of the residing Japanese chef is training the other local chefs well with quality control. Other supporting items like Tuna + Salad, Lotus Root pickles, 高菜 and Radish pickles were ok-good. Rice was slightly too moist but acceptable! SCORE: 4.0/5.0

EGG OMELETTE WITH MENTAIKO FISH ROE - 明太子焼玉子:
This is a dish found in many places. The version here is ok-good. Not artificially sweetened, but the Mentaiko lacked that fish-roe umami or the spiciness. Half way between dense and fluffy! SCORE: 3.2/5.0

NOT TOO INTERESTED COMING FOR LUNCH AGAIN, AND NOT GOING TO THEIR OTHER KANOKA UDON SHOP TO TRY EVER! COPY-CATS..
