New York Cheesecake - so BAD!!

I love New York Cheesecake and have been a big fan since I lived in New York. Now that I am in HK, I have been trying to find ones that taste good here... Went by Panash, and figured since its bread is pretty decent its desserts can't be that bad. Tried a slice of NY Cheesecake - WHA, SOOOO BAD!! It's dry and a little crumbled (good, authentic ones are supposedly very creamy and smooth). Not much taste to it too... It has this weird top layer of jelly-like stuff that tastes really bad, alm

It's dry and a little crumbled (good, authentic ones are supposedly very creamy and smooth). Not much taste to it too... It has this weird top layer of jelly-like stuff that tastes really bad, almost bitter. It didn't only taste bad, it tasted almost like it "turned bad"... it's that unpleasant. Otherwise, I have no complaint of Panash bread - it's alright. Another bad NY Cheesecake experience was at the McD cafe... That one tasted exactly like cheddar cheese and I almost threw up! Did they use the wrong cheese to make the cake?? In which case, don't sell it at McD Cafe - after all it is an American restaurant and is supposed to know what NY Cheesecake is made of!
