Benga brothers is a newly opened grab and go place in wanchai, serving Indian street food like kati rolls, along with other snacks and bowls. I was totally attracted by the eye catching neon pick sign and the pastel colour tone, so I couldn’t wait to come grab a bite. I chose tamil pepper beef kati roll.
Tamil pepper beef- braised beef short rib with fennel and star anise, coconut chutney and curry leaf, all rolled into this homemade warm and flaky paratha.
First time trying kati rolls, I think it actually tastes not bad, but the beef rib’s texture was more like brisket than beef ribs to me, and I personally think it was a bit too heavy for my liking. I couldn’t finish the whole thing by myself. Also, the paratha flatbread’s texture was flaky but not too soft, it was a bit difficult to chew at a point, I would prefer some softer flatbread than this kind.
I probably won’t revisit, but I think is still worth trying if u love to try new things.
