Cafe Loisl offers a nice atmosphere and free wifi, so it's a pleasant place to work. I will not be going back, though, considering that I paid $53 for this small ice latte. There was nothing special about it, and I enjoyed it less than my usual one I get from Habitu that just costs $26 and is twice the size. I would have enjoyed, for example, cream instead of basic milk, but the staffed seemed to say they didn't have any. What really irked me, is that I ordered this following the menu written on
What really irked me, is that I ordered this following the menu written on the wall, which said the price was $48 (already pushing my limits of what I'm willing to spend!). When I went to pay, it was $53 because of a rounded-up service charge! Evidently in their written menu there is a note about the service charge. I also wasn't pleased with the staff's "I don't give a crap, please stop talking and leave me alone" attitude when I tried to point this out and express my frustration.
I left feeling ill that I had just spent so much money on a coffee I didn't even particularly enjoy. Come on Hong Kong! If you're going to be charging these ridiculous prices for something that is half the price in other cities, do something special with it!
