Went there for happy hour with a friend on a Friday night (TGIF!). I previously went to the causeway bay branch and had an amazing experience. So, I was quite looking forward to checking the central branch.. My friend and I ordered 2 beers, mussels with frites, steak tartare and grilled cheese sandwich. Went there for happy hour with a friend on a Friday night (TGIF!). I previously went to the causeway bay branch and had an amazing experience. So, I was quite looking forward to checking the central branch.. My friend and I ordered 2 beers, mussels with frites, steak tartare and grilled cheese sandwich. Food was awesome even though it was a bit pricey ($840 in total). Not to mention service was so poor considering the price of the food. My friend and I were seated at a table for 4 initially by a waiter but we were told by another staff - the “host” (heavy, grey haired, 5’4, European man) 2 minutes later that “we were not supposed to sit there and that we had to switch seats and share a table with another couple because we did not make a reso ahead of time (he repeatedly mentioned we did not make a reso at least 5 times after). We were also told all tables by the Windows were taken because, again, we did not make a reso (only to find out there were at least 2 tables available by the windows). We got punished for not making a reservation ahead of time. Overall, I did not have a good experience with the staff but we have to be fair, the food was bomb, all the credits go to the hard working chef in the kitchen. If I got to choose who I can give my tips to, no doubt 100% would go straight to the staff in the kitchen. Not coming back.
