We came here for something pleasant on a special occasion and the food turned out to be an unexpected and maybe not-so-lovely surprise.Nearly all seats were occupied when we arrived. The vibe was lively. You could see customers dancing around with their drinks and some clustered at the bar table chatting. We were seated at the upper floor by the window. Tables were placed close to each other, you could hear what was said in the next table without an effort. But the atmosphere was all good.So we
Nearly all seats were occupied when we arrived. The vibe was lively. You could see customers dancing around with their drinks and some clustered at the bar table chatting.
We were seated at the upper floor by the window. Tables were placed close to each other, you could hear what was said in the next table without an effort. But the atmosphere was all good.
So we ordered a salad as starter, which we didn’t took a photo of as it didn’t look spectacular enough to remind us the effort of photographing it. Taste was okay. An average salad.
Then we had our long-anticipated award-winning pizza —
So this is the Napoletana. There was a generous portion of the mozzarella cheese and anchovy on the tomato sausewith some garlic and capers. Maybe due to the portion of anchovy, it dominated all other ingredients on the pizza.
The pizza base itself was perfect, I finished the pizza bread which had no ingredients on it HA! And bottom-up-ed several glasses of water.
I am not sure if it was why it got the award but it wasn't really for me. I might try other pizzas next time given it's pizza base was good and ingredients were added generously. And the atmosphere was nice!
