Zoe has just opened a new shop at Wanchai, which is close to where I work, as a cake lover, I went to buy two cakes, one is the signature cake, Zoe and the other one is cholcoate mud cake. SInce I heard about this cake shop for quite a while, you can imagine I have quite an expectation on its quality. I would say, it's not too bad but surely nothing special. The Zoe cake is rather tasteless to me, the cream or mousse is smooth but with only a slight touch of hazelnut favour and the middle laye

The Zoe cake is rather tasteless to me, the cream or mousse is smooth but with only a slight touch of hazelnut favour and the middle layer is just sponge cake with a layer of crunchy flake at the bottom. As I srcoll down the critics, I really don't understand on why there are so many persons who love the Zoe cake. Could there be something wrong about my taste buds?
For the mud cake, it's moist and rich in chocolate favor but I don't like the top layer, it's a bit heavy and too sweet.
I would say you may try it for once only since it's definitely not worth for $30 each.
One more point to add, the middle age woman at the shop has a bad manner and rather arrogant. As a cake shop, I would expect a very warm and pleasant greeting sinc e they are selling some sweetie stuffs. But I can't feel it. Not worth to give it a second try.
