However, we were stopped by this Pokka cafe in Sha Tin when a waiter delivered a teppanyaki dish to one of the customers so we gave it a shot and went in to hopefully enjoy a nice family lunch.

We asked the waiter which dish the customer ordered and found out that they serve quite a number of dishes in the style of teppanyaki. They came as a Japanese set with miso soup, a small bowl of pearl rice and a drink. My sister decided to order a Beef Sirloin set($12x), I wanted to try the roast chicken($11x), my dad is too lazy to pick and simply ordered a lunch set($13x) and my mum who came in a bit late ordered a korean stone pot which is on displayed($9x).
Korean Stone Pot Rice w/ Beef Tenderloin and Chicken Fillet

The korean stone pot came first although it is being ordered slightly later. Mum was asked whether she would like the egg being cooked or not when she placed the order and she said she wanted it fully cooked. I was a bit worried how it would turn out as I couldn't imagine having a fried egg being stuffed within. Thankfully, a fresh egg is actually just being buried beneath the top layer but on top of the rice. I guess its meaning of "cooked" is whether to serve the egg separately or to be heated in the stone pot. The sauce came separately for us to add in according to our own preference. It would be nice if they could serve us in mixing the ingredients. Still, the hotness was just right after we played with the mixing. The carrots remained crispy and added freshness to the dish. They didn't have much choice concerning the ingredient, I'm not sure they serve seafood as an option but the beef tenderloin and chicken fillet were tender and quite adequate as proportion to the amount of rice. An impressive and fulfilling dish overall in a non-korean restaurant!

The beef sirloin set came next. Indeed a Grill Specialist!
Even the service was impressive! Normally restaurants asked customers how rare they want the beef to be during the ordering. The waiter didn't ask us so I assumed the beef would be well cooked, or even pre-cooked.. However, it came as a surprise to all of us! The waiter served the beef sirloin on the teppanyaki as expected but right after he put down the dish, he asked us how rare we want and start flipping the beef sirloin. We could see clearly that the beef sirloin was very juicy and once it reached to around 70%, the pieces were placed one by one on top of the veggies to avoid contact with the hot pan. It was a very clever way of performance and we were greatly amazed. This can definitely ensure the meat won't be overcooked and could adjust according to each customer's preference without having different interpretation towards how cooked they want. The only disappointment we had was the speed that they serve the rice and the miso soup. After the whole performance, we still have to wait for about 5 minutes for the rice, which, by that time, the beef were nearly finished... We figured out that in order to save time, they delivered everyone's rice+soup at once instead of complimenting each teppanyaki with its supplement.

The set lunch was charged at a slightly higher price than the beef sirloin set but the quality was not as good. Probably because the repetitiveness of ordering... It looks attractive on the menu with chicken fillet, chicken soft bone and beef. However, it came as a disappointment. It was served nicely as well just as the beef sirloin teppanyaki set but the chicken lacked flavouring. The beef was not as juicy as we speculated. They should really eliminate the lunch set as it came no difference(not even cheaper!) than the rest in the menu. There were 2 lunch sets, the other one was not appealing at all. Failed to understand Pokka's purpose on such

My roast chicken came last.
The rosemary wasn't especially flavouring but I love the large boneless chicken. Every bite was satisfying. The nicely flavoured and juicy chicken was complimented with 3 sauces. I only tried the seaweed sauce as it's unique and matched really well!
It should be noted that the potato wedge, grilled pumpkin, tomato was grilled really nicely as well, not too oily.

The milk tea on top came with the set. we were "amazed" at how they could find such a small cup..it's even smaller than the cup of tea that came free-of-charge, not to mention the cup used for the tea looked nicer.. We ordered a cold lemon tea as well which is more acceptable but both drinks need to improve on the selection of tea.

It is a good experience overall, if only they could locate at a quieter place...They should have one in Kowloon as well! I'm looking forward to try their toast tea set, hopefully it would be another pleasant experience~
