There is a new HMV in town. Located in Causeway Bay, right behind the MCL JP movie theater, is three floors of music, movies, audio equipment and gift items up for sale. I came here for lunch and it was clearly not busy. I was presented with the lunch menu where you get a soup and salad, choice of main and a drink for $98. They also have a la carte that is split into two categories of Western and Asian. Menu in English and Chinese.
Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup and Potato Salad. Soup was pretty good. Creamy with a strong earthy mushroom taste. It had a few crunchy croutons on top. The bad was the potato salad. Half the potatoes were still on the raw side while the some were perfectly soft. The potatoes were overly doused with black pepper so all I tasted was pepper.
Aromatic Herbs Pork Ribs with Japanese Pumpkin Puree. The good? The pumpkin puree was wonderfully sweet and I loved it. The bad? Though the ribs tasted fine, they were a bit undercooked and tough. I expected it to be more fall off the bone but instead I got a really tough bit of meat.

The music was, of course, nice as it was your typical top 40 playing in the background. Service was prompt and friendly. Only thing is it took forever for food to arrive. I think I waited a good 40 minutes for my main to arrive while the soup and salad arrived immediately after I ordered. Food was also inconsistent. Some parts were good and then some parts were a total miss. I have mixed feelings after I left. I'm unsure if this is due to it being still very new so may revisit again to give it another try later on as I did like the HMV Kafe when it was located in Happy Valley (before it closed).
