5 of us for dinner. Seated in a window-facing booth. Could feel a headache coming along with the pinkish lighting and neon menu. Was eager to try the signature 避风塘炒蟹 but was told since we didn’t preorder, there weren’t any for us. Wanted to try the 马友 also, but were told it’s sold out. Finally settled on the 乌头. Finally settled on the 乌头. An insect crawled out from under a lemon slice upon taking the photo.
Told server abt the insect and it generally appearing too pink (undercooked or cos of the lighting?) and requested a replacement. Server apologetically declared that that was the last one available.
Suggested we tried the numerous skewers on offer but since we would’ve gone to a proper yakitori restaurant for those; didn’t oblige.
Rest of the meal was actually not bad. Here’s what we had.

潮式卤水拼盘- meat was tender.

No dessert available to finish off tho. Server did suggest trying the white-sugar coated egg. But nah…
