Went on a Friday night and booked just an hour before. Entrees | Lobster bisque was über thick, almost like a gravy, and the roasted/grilled lobster tail was even more flavorful ie overly salty. Cream of mushroom felt plain. Salad | The Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad was fancy to look at as the waitress prepared it over huge rack of ice & presented a "cold fork", but the combination of beetroot strips, cube egg whites, Lawry's special (weird?) sauce was felt too strange to be satisfying. I'm big fan of salads - Caesar salads, balsamic ones with goat cheese & raisins, Japanese goma ones... but this just was confusing for me.
Mains | My medium rare Lamb chops was amazingly tender and had only faint hint of lamb aroma. Not a fan of red meat but this was great! Accompanying vege was a bit confusing as they were on the raw side, but nonetheless felt healthy with baby corn, baby carrot & snow peas & baby potatoes. That's right they were real cuties!
Couldn't comment on the steak except the creamed spinach is amazingly satisfying!
Also had a latte as part of the dinner set and it was surprisingly good! Foam nicely proportioned and milk was done warm & sweet. Reminded me of my biweekly Starbucks latte~
Dessert | cheesecake had unsalted shaved cheese as toppings and super tangy berries to go with. Glad to say the fruits were decent. Cheesecake, perhaps lighter and less flavorful than expected.
Service was alright but felt more robotic than effusive. Asked to take a Polaroid cuz I'm a little girl who gets excited at such things but was silently ignored. Like I said, they seemed to have lost the zest in their service, and paled against other steakhouses. Felt a bit sorry for them...
Also, just a heads up for those who expect a proper steakhouse environment/noise level... Go to Hyatt's. Or somewhere else. Here, it's a strange vibe with tons of Chinese diners who eat with hands (nothing wrong, yes) and with crying toddlers, wailing literally 2 meters away from you. And then you can hear another patron at the other side of the room talking about his family affairs. The waiters do nothing.
Enjoyed very much despite that, it was a lovely Friday, but wouldn't return to Lawry's nor would I recommend to friends for sure
