We wanted to treat ourselves for a burger today so we went on Deliveroo and stumbled upon this amazing butcher cum steakhouse. There were a number of burger places available but this restaurant stood out as they offer grass-fed beef and lamb, pasture-raised pork and more. With a bit more research, we appreciate how their philosophy is to make a connection between the farm and meat and what we eat. It was a shame that the set lunch was no longer available by the time we ordered so we missed out on the bone broth. We were also originally interested in what their monthly special burger was, it was a turkey burger but again we couldn't try it as it was sold out... What a pity... Therefore, without hesitation, we went for the QM's Single Cheese and Double Cheese Burgers. As we also noticed good reviews for the Piggie Fries, we quickly added it into our order.
The food packaging was neat but most importantly, all the items smelled fantastic. We sank our teeth into the burgers and the taste of the pig fat blended in pleasantly well with the beef patties. Although the restaurant did not inquire about our doneness preference, the patties were cooked to a tee. Also, they added one of my favourite cheese of all times - raclette cheese to the burger and it took the overall flavour to another level. I don't recall having ever tried fries cooked with pig fat (lard) before so the Piggie Fries really had dipped my toes into trying food cooked with lard. Having said this, their food items might deter a lot of weight-watchers from trying due to them being fat / oil-laden. Regardless, it is a must-try for anyone who enjoys burgers as much as we do.
It was such a memorable experience and we are sure we will visit the restaurant in-person next time when we feel we deserve a treat again!
