At lunch, if you get the bill before 12:40pm, you can get 12% off the total bill. What a bargain. This time I had the lunch set, which includes the main meal plus a drink. I had the Raw Beef Noodle Rice Noodle Soup and a Hot Lemon Watercress Honey drink. The pho comes in a big portion, with plenty of noodles, onion, herbs and at leaast 5-6 pieces of finely sliced beef which had a good meat-fat balance. The pho comes in a big portion, with plenty of noodles, onion, herbs and at leaast 5-6 pieces of finely sliced beef which had a good meat-fat balance. The soup is on the bland side, but after making use of the complimentary nuoc mam, chilli, lime and hoisin sauce, I was able to tailor it to my taste. I really enjoyed the plentiful onions and herbs though, it made the pho taste fresh, and brought out the fragrance of the soup.
During my time there, the restaurant filled up quickly after 12 noon, with most smaller groups (2's and 3's) and solo eaters having to share tables elbow to elbow. The room is limited, and they like to make use of every single inch. Having said this, I did not feel rushed at all. The staff would wait until you are finished before politely asking if they can remove your bowl. There is no hovering, only attentive, efficient service. This restaurant runs a busy lunch service, with big hot bowls of pho continuously being brought out from the kitchen, and the waitstaff seem well-seasoned in this game.
I was of course out by 12:30pm, in order to take full advantage of the bill. At $43, the lunch set is a steal.
