my mum and i decided to try it out as they sent us a menu through the post and it looked really good. i was a little worried that it was so empty at peak dinner hour (7:30?), the guy who showed us the table wasnt particularly enthuisastic either.there were 2 guys just hanging around not doing anything but we still had to look around and wave for a while before we could order. we ordered the lime cured tuna salad, the raw beef pho (sorry dont know the proper name) and some grilled eggplants with

water was requested but didn't come until i asked for it for the second time.
the salad was pretty good, refeshing - sour and quite spicy. i liked it but the tuna wasn't great quality, and dont they usually sear the edges rather than just leaving it raw?
the raw beef pho was pretty bad, the beef was already cooked in the soup, the beef was chewy. the pho itself was ok.
grilled eggplants were good, weren't oily and came with a bunch of kaffir leaves (for those who like them). the prawns were sliced paper-thin and i dont think the combo worked very well, maybe if they had dried prawns it would go better. the sauce tasted the same as the one in the salad, minus the spice.
overall it wasn't spectacular. but i love the decor and i actually like how they set it out canteen/casual-dining style. i guess the idea was have an upbeat, meeting-up-with-friends-for-drinks kinda thing. it would work a little better if it was up in the bar circle i think, or at lan kwai. elements just doesnt have that sort of clientele.
