On a burning hot Saturday afternoon, me and my other half were out hunting for food that could temporarily fulfil our crave for some distinct yet familiar taste. We settled for this Malaysian restaurant in a small alley at Quarry Bay. Going in not knowing what a treat we were going to be feasted on. We ordered a bowl of laksa with curry chicken. The laksa was amazing with its soup base being silky smooth and flavourful. The noodle were al dente, however the curry chicken were just okay. We would recommend to only order a plain seafood laksa if you were to visit this lovely establishment next time.
There it comes to the main hit for our lunch, the bak kut teh. When it came, we could already smell the chinese herb from a mile away. We dug in the soup right away and the soup were so rich and you could literally taste all the kinds of herb inside it. Once we added some chilli into the soup, the character changed right away, but in a good way, the soup was even more powerful and while the hotness didn't over power the herb but only brought it out even more. The fragrant rice was a tad too oily but it goes quite well with the bak kut teh, a must have if you choose the bak kut teh.
Overall, a must try whether you like Malaysian cuisine or not, it is that good and no I am not being paid for this review. XP
