I had always thought of trying the restaurant here. The problem is Disney has so many meets and greets and performances that need queuing that it is quite impossible to eat 75 minutes at a restaurant without missing these activities. However, today was raining cats and dogs and many things got cancelled so I decided to try out this restaurant. You can reserve in advance and there is a walk-in queue as well. I arrived at 12 and luckily got a seat quite quickly at the China room. You pay at the en
The appetizers, salads, fruit, desserts and drinks are all-you-can-eat so you can get your drinks and salads and enjoy your first round(or seconds) while waiting for someone to take your order for the main course.
For hot drinks there is the seasonal fruit tea and local milk tea, which i preferred milk tea more. Despite the summer, it was great to have a hot drink after being under the rain for so long(even with an umbrella)
For cold drinks, the mango lassi was definitely my favorite.
My favorite salad was definitely the chicken pineapple(there was really quite a lot of chicken in it) and the cauliflower mousse.
For the main, I chose the fish. The dish was not bad but they could have added less sauce or put it more on the side as I could only taste the sauce and not the fish.
For the desserts, their designs were cute. However, their unique flavors were not too prominent. What I mean is eg. the fruity desserts weren't tarty enough while the chocolate desserts were not rich enough. The good point though was they all weren't too sweet so it won't overwhelm your taste buds even if you try all of them.
However, the hot desserts(bread pudding and creme brulle) were really good and worth having seconds. For those who go to Disney often, you will know the price for 1 drink can be about $40 and 1 snack can easily cost you $60. Given the price and comfortable environment and if you have moderate to large appetite, this would be a great place to eat inside Disney.
