It's somehow the trend now these days that new hip restaurants decide to go for a play on words when naming their restaurants. Some are successful and well, some just focused a bit too much on gimmick and was lacking on their food quality... We made booking at 8:30PM and when we got there, the lower floor was filled with people, chilling and drinking. The vibe is good! The waiter took us upstairs where the dining area is, and wow its very, "Hong Kong cha chan tang" style, just a very clean, hip looking one, oh and quite spacious too!

This glutinous rice stuffed chicken wings is quite delicious! Each chicken wing is fat and juicy enough. What's more to it is that out of the 4 pieces, there's 2 pieces that has 1/2 abalone stuffed in it. Quite funny! And i think the restaurant is rather flexible and nice because we have 5 people in total, and they let us order 1 extra piece of chicken wing so we could each have one! (does that chicken wing have abalone stuffed in it? hmm.. not telling.. haha!)

This plate of french fries totally reminded us of our high school years when we used to order fries from our school's tuck shop, all the time, after school. The cheese power is nice, but i think the cheese taste isn't very strong. However, the truffle mayo is super yum! And as you can see, they gave us a huge scoop of the truffle mayo! We pretty much cleared this in 3 mins.

Ok. Well. this is where it all starts to go downhill. What is this? When we ordered we thought it would be like turnip cake fried with X.O. sauce. but this is just exactly what we have at the ordinary dim sum places. Just that this one is $78/2 = $39 per piece, on a kinda fine dining looking-ish plate setting...

Rice noodle roll - All of us here in Hong Kong would definitely have tried this street food i would believe, or maybe at dim sum places also.  Sorry about the photo, to be fair, the sunny-side up egg was fried very nicely and it was JUST right. The yoke was running. The waiter suggested us to mix the yolk and the cheong fun together. So we mixed it all up. BUT it's... okay.  Again, is it worth the money for this? Oh and for those who can't do spicy, this dish is a bit spicy.

So. What can you see from the photo? Let me tell you. 3 pieces of beef brisket, bits and pieces of super soft tendon (or a bit TOO soft that it lost its texture), 1 beef dumpling, and few pieces of turnip. Again, as a person who grew up in Hong Kong, this can be eaten at any beef / wonton noodle places. But here, its $288. The upside of this dish is that, all the meat and tendon were very soft and tender. The turnip was also very soft and all the sauce was infused in it. I didn't get to try the dumpling because there was only one piece....

I think I remembered the waiter saying something about the pork. Something special about it. But. when we tasted it, we were like, hey is this spam? Taste like it? The portion was quite small, but since the whole bowl of rice was mixed with salted egg yolk, considering the cholesterol level of this dish, i think we each shared two spoonful was good enough.  Spam plus salted egg yolk rice @ $238. 


Well. I give them credit for coming up with all the very creative names for each dish. But i think they should seriously review the price point of their dishes. Food taste ok but overpriced. For those who think this is fusion food, sorry to disappoint, this is really just Hong Kong style cha chan tang food. But overall the restaurant has a very good vibe!
