Late brunch with a friend who had to work during Easter and chose a place near her office. Had been to Oolaa in Sheung Wan but not this one. The breakfast bruschetta was quite filling and the egg benedicts were quite shapely and did not run before one even lay hands on them. The bruschetta bread was slightly tough and wet, though it was understandable given the nature of the dish. The pumpkin and mascarpone ravioli were soft and easy on the palate, and the greens on the side (arugula and spinach) were quite fresh. The chocolate lava pudding was of standard quality, but the strawberry pavlova was amazing - it was a gigantic meringue beautifully decked with strawberries and cream. The service was fair. The place was half-empty as it was three in the afternoon. I consider $446 for the lot quite reasonable in this locality.
