I've come here a few times already and used to be fan of this place (I've written a glowing review for them before). Unfortunately, my most recent was disappointing, and as a result, I like this place a little less now. We had seen on their website that on weekends they have a 'Sundown Session' offer for $488 you can get their signature tapas set with 2 hours free flow. We had seen on their website that on weekends they have a 'Sundown Session' offer for $488 you can get their signature tapas set with 2 hours free flow. However, we were not given that menu when we sat down, so we asked the waitress about it.
Her response was bizarre. She comes back meekly with the Sundown menu and a business card of the hotel. She told us that because there was already a big party of around 20 people who ordered the 'Sundown Session' deal, there is limited supply.. (of what? food? drink? for items that can be ordered a la carte anyway?) and therefore we would not be allowed to enjoy the deal as well. She suggests that next time we should call beforehand to 'book' the deal. The thing is, we had actually tried to call to book a table but they told us no reservations, walk in only... Also, the need to book the Sundown Session was not stated anywhere on their menu or website.
Anyway, we didn't want to be difficult so we didn't question or challenge the waitress any further. We went ahead and ordered some of their cocktails on tap, but when we wanted to order a second round of different cocktails, turns out half of what was on the menu was not available... so we went for a G&T pitcher which came with a lot of ice and serves around 4 glasses. To be honest it didn't taste very strong and by this point with all the hiccups we had experienced, we weren't having the best time and decided to head somewhere else for drinks...
I would love to come back to try their Sundown Session, but after this experience, I wouldn't be surprised if even after I do everything the waitress suggested, I might still be denied of the offer on the day. It's too much effort and just not good enough for a five star hotel bar.
