Lunch with Pharmacist, who is a fan of Asian cuisine. Decided to try this Indian, recommended by Brother.Presented with a one-page Lunch menu. Didn’t see any naan bread; enquired with server, who confirmed that they didn’t serve any. Very disappointed, since I had been saving up my carbs for it. Anyway, here’s what we had. Deep-fried battered Prawns coated with a red chilly marinade, served with Pickled Onions, Herbs and Tamarind Chutney. Took one bite, interesting taste but couldn’t continue as

Anyway, here’s what we had.
Deep-fried battered Prawns coated with a red chilly marinade, served with Pickled Onions, Herbs and Tamarind Chutney. Took one bite, interesting taste but couldn’t continue as too spicy.
After a long wait, our main courses came in round metal trays. Loved the presentation.
My tray was the only choice for non-spicy eaters, being:-
-Stewed Lamb with carrots etc
-Basmati Rice
-Corn Chips
-salad of diced cucumbers, onions, tomatoes
-2 deep-fried balloon-like bread; tasted slightly sweet like light and airy doughnuts
-stir fried Cabbage shreds topped with grated coconut
-Iced lemonade
Pharmacist’s tray consisted of:
-Chicken cooked in a spice mix called bottle masala (a blend of more than 20 different spices). High praises from Pharmacist.
-Basmati Rice
-Chapati (roti)
-Cabbage
-salad of diced cucumbers, onions, tomatoes etc
-Corn Crisps
-Solkadhi ie a digestive drink made with coconut milk mixed with mangosteen etc
Unfortunately only 1 dessert, the Rabdi, was available (we were initially promised the toffee ice cream and the Yoghurt blended with berries).
Rabdi, meaning reduced milk with cream, is
usually made with whole milk simmered on low heat for a long time then sweetened with sugar and flavored with Saffron Infused Cantaloupe and Nuts in this case.
Masala Chai tea
In summary: refined Indian. In need of some fine tuning (speed of cooking, sorting out available desserts etc); however liked chef’s concept and actually interested to return for dinner.
