To celebrate the new year, the four of us went to this place for lunch~ I was being told that the focus of this restaurant is not on the appetisers nor main dishes, but on the dessert that comes with the set lunch~ .The reason is that this restaurant is connected with the Japanese patisserie YOKU MOKU that is at ground floor... .The lunch set serves BOTH soup and salad, which is not usual for lunch places at wan chai.. .I like that it is Japanese style of western restaurant (和洋式)that the portio

The reason is that this restaurant is connected with the Japanese patisserie YOKU MOKU that is at ground floor...

The lunch set serves BOTH soup and salad, which is not usual for lunch places at wan chai.. .
I like that it is Japanese style of western restaurant (和洋式)that the portion is not very big but it was delicately plated.
. The salad is good with the perfect amount of salad sauce (I dislike those salad that is served with immense portion of salad sauce that the vegetables are like swimming in the sauce). The size of the salmon is reasonably big and fresh too. The mini toastie is crispy and nicely seasoned ..
.
For the soup, it is my favourite mushroom soup...rich and creamy with bite size mushrooms.. i would say it could be better if it is served hot but not just slightly warm in my case.
. It then comes to the fish I chose... may be the restaurant aims to serve the dishes to all of us at the same time, it is only "not cold" when I dig in... honestly it could have been better if it is served HOT!!!
.
Then it's the risotto and pasta and my friends ordered.
. After finish eating the main dish, Here is the moment we have been waiting for - MINAMI AOYAMA ROLL (meaning south blue mountain roll!?) It couldn't have been better! The cream is not heavy and the roll is full of the taste of egg...! And this time they eventually served it at the right temperature: it is cold!
Even my friends who didn't like cream finished eating the whole roll by herself
