After few days of heavy indulgence of food, we planned to go light today and have salad bowl. Coincidentally, we walked past this salad stall named Poke Love. It was located at Bonham Road, few minutes walk from Sai Ying Pun MTR.They offered several choices for their salad bowl, either vegan or non-vegan. They catered mainly for take-away as well as few seating for dine in. All ingredients were displayed in front of them, allowing us to see how they prepare.
We bought 2 fresh juice. Carrot juice was mixed with carrot, cloudy apple and ginger. It was cooling and sweet, with slight ginger taste. Another juice was mixed with apple, orange, pineapple, banana, passionfruit, blueberry and purple carrot. It was refreshing and having sweet and slightly sour taste, very pumped up after drinking.
One of us chose DIY, with sushi rice as base. It was chewy and fragrant. Cut octopus was chewy and smooth, like chewing on gums. For my topping, I added cucumber, shredded egg, chickpeas and mixed seaweed. They were chewy and fresh in taste as well. I added pineapple to make it juicier. As for my sauce, I chose spicy aioli as I preferred it to be spicy to complement my salad bowl.
Lomi Lomi - It was colourful in appearance, with salmon poke, mixed green salad, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, red onion, smoked salmon, pineapple, mixed nuts and citrus soy. As it contained several greens, it was not so filling and yet refreshing. Salmon was chewy and buttery and pineapple and citrus soy helped to make it slightly sour and appetizing.
